How-to-Guide: How to Achieve your Goals in Nigeria and Abroad

It is possible!

Is Nigeria a Place of Achievement?

The economy of Nigeria presently creates a big room for concern. From ASUU strike to the ever growing issue of unemployment. People may say Nigeria has literally become a dead end to achievements; I also accepted this until I began to make a lot weekly (When I started). The truth is that Nigeria would scarcely give room for your achievement- you have to create a room for yourself.

Picture yourself trying to get groundnut(peanut) out of a bottle. At first all the groundnuts(peanuts) would move towards the bottleneck to come out, few may, but the others get stuck and you have to reshuffle. Nigeria is the large bottle and we (you and me) are the peanuts [don't get offended by the simile].

You probably just want me to say how I achieved my goals, we have gotten to that junction.

Determine Your Goal

This is were you tell yourself that you want to make it. After coming to the realization that you don't want to be in the same place you are now in the next one year [yes, one year or less is all it takes. Mine took a month], it would be easy to know what you want to achieve.

“Some succeed because they are destined to, but most succeed because they are determined to.”

~ Henry van Dyke

Willpower is the key to succeeding in a country like Nigeria and anywhere in the world.

Set a Deadline

Let's talk about one of the easiest of all. "I want to earn $100 every week by legit means"- When do you want this to be a reality? After determining your goal, now you are driven by will power, you must know when you want to start seeing the significant changes. It could be a month, six months, or a year depending on your goal.

"Give yourself a deadline to stop planning and to start taking action."

~ Andy Gilbert

After setting a deadline, you must not be ignorant about happenings around you. This leads me to the next which is;

Acquire a Skill

You may have figured out why I said "you must not be ignorant...". Whether or not you have, the reason I said so is because you don't necessarily have to go to a particular person you know to learn a skill. There are various free skill acquisition and youth empowerment schemes, one of which is the "YPF (Young Professionals Forum)". This body ensures participants acquire different kinds of skills for FREE, she holds her Skill Acquisition Programme (SAP) annually. I was a partaker and trust me, I've been making money ever since- even as a student. Visit their website today and get closer to making it in life.

"The future belongs to those who learn more skills and combine them in creative ways."

~ Robert Greene

Making it in the world now without a skill is almost impossible.

 Start the Journey

Take the first step with pride. At this point there would be inner joy of accomplishment, no matter how subtle. Depending on your goal, acquiring a skill may not be a priority [mind you, if you see an opportunity, GRAB IT], you may want to work with your talent. However, there is always a beginning, and it doesn't have to be big.

"You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great."

~ Zig Ziglar

Start and you would thank yourself later. Starting is what stops most people- irony of life.

Continue and Persevere

When you start, you may surmount every obstacle by bringing your A-game. What happens half way through the race? Unlike wrestling matches or Olympics, you get stronger along the way. No doubt reasons to stop would arise but;

  • Remember why you started.
  • Realize what you may go back to if you give up.
  • Rekindle the fire of achievement in you.

"The will to persevere is often the difference between failure and success."

~ David Sarnoff

It would be a regrettable waste of time if you give up. I appeal that you don't.

Enjoy your Success

There is no reason why you should not reward yourself after an achievement. "Success is sweet after hard work." I strictly advice some enjoyment and relaxation when you do well. This is the time you can rest.

"Happiness lies in the joy of achievement, and the thrill of creative effort."

~ Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Now in the Midst of the Dark Bulbs, You Shine and Attract Opportunities.

The joy of success is amazing and it gladdens my heart to know you would experience this great joy after heeding to the tips of this article.
